Bass Drum Technique - The Toe Stroke
Updated: Jul 15, 2018
There are four most commonly strokes used to play the bass drum. In this video lesson I focus on the first and most basic one, the toe stroke (heel down). Watch as I discuss the motion, sound quality and situations where this stroke is most useful. And, I will demonstrate how to play this stroke with the springs off of the pedal first. Learning it this way ensures the proper weight distribution is being used. Once the springs are on, you will be ready to go!
